Ashland University participates in NCAA Division II Athletics and is a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

ASHLAND UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS, 2014–15 TO 2023–24

  • Learfield Directors' Cup (NCAA Division II All-Sports award) finishes of second in 2014-15 and ninth in 2018-19.
  • Five team D-II national championships, three in men's track and field and two in women's basketball.
  • 26 individual/relay D-II national championships in track and field/wrestling
  • 45 CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America awards
  • Added the following sports:
    • Men's soccer (program reinstated in 2016)
    • Men's tennis (program reinstated in 2018)
    • Women's lacrosse (2018)
    • Esports (co-ed) (2018)
    • STUNT (2020)
  • New and renovated facilities:
    • New indoor Fauber Golf Facility (2015)
    • Renovated Deborah Liebert Karl Tennis Complex (2016)
    • New esports facility in basement of library (2018)
    • New Mary C. Miller Student-Athlete Enrichment Center and Rinehart Room in Kates Gymnasium (2019)
    • New interactive touch-screen Hall of Fame and history display in the Kates Gymnasium lobby (2020)
    • New Niss Athletic Center (2022)
    • Renovated Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex (2022)
    • New on-campus softball field – Deb Miller Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex (2023)
    • Renovated Conard Field House (2024)

Intramural & Club Sports

Ashland University also offers a variety of organized recreational sports and activities in a safe environment so participants have the opportunity to enhance their physical fitness, build social networks, practice good sportsmanship and enjoy their time outside the classroom. We have a variety of intramural sports and sports clubs to choose from.
